UPCOMING Workshop!

The Silent Wound: Strategies for Healing from Medical Trauma

A free, virtual event

Friday, October 17, 2025, 12:00-1:00pm (EST)

Have you ever had your genuine concerns over medical care dismissed without proper evaluation or examination? For those with rare or undiagnosed illnesses, these experiences can be stressful and sometimes traumatic. The impacts are profound and can lead to a mistrust in healthcare providers, delayed diagnosis and avoidance of seeking medical care. But there are medical providers who want to help and better ways for consumers to navigate their healthcare to increase communication and understanding.

Emily Browning, LCSW, ACHP-SW, M.Div., CCTP, and Melissa Meyer, DNP, PMHNP, will share coping strategies, tips on navigating healthcare systems and setting boundaries, ways for children to express their emotions, and strategies for caregivers to support their rare disease child.
